About the event

Here at our Sip and Dip, we offer FUN art, not FINE art, enjoy a guided learn-to-make class!

Our Mango Hill Coffee Club Sip 'n' Create nights bring a whole range of fun to your calendar!

No previous experience is required, in this class, you will learn to work with a Water-based resin called Watercote,  this resin is a Waterborne Urethane/Acrylic dispersion resin made with  50% water (cleans up with water) and you will learn to mix it, colour it  and apply it to a paddle board and 4 coasters. Best part about this  class? We use the tape method so there is no sanding needed to finish  your work.

You will learn to work with powdered pigment colours , mica powders  and acrylic ink colours and we have multiple boards to choose from all  coming with 4 coasters to pour alongside the one you choose.

$85 Total ticket price ($60 Deposit to book today with $25 payable to the venue on the evening of the event) Includes:

  • Your Art class & teacher to guide you
  • All the equipment and materials you will need for the workshop
  • Dinner from the Sip 'n' Dip menu (click here to discuss dietary requirements with the venue)
  • A glass of wine
  • 1 Board of your choosing to decorate with water based (food grade) resin
  • 4 x water-based resin MDF coasters to pour (roughly 90-100mm sized coasters)

Hows it work?

Once  everyone has eaten, we will commence class, if you finish your meal  early feel free to enjoy a glass of wine while you wait.

Hows the ticketing work?

You will pay a deposit to hold your spot, and finalise your payment  on arrival at the venue at $25 a head which will cover your access to  the grazing tables and a glass of wine - full bar available on-site if  you wish to purchase further drinks.

CLASS FAQ

Resin is a chemical, please make an informed choice

If you are booking in for the Resin class it is important to remember  that resin is a chemical and as such we ask that you first review the Safety Data Sheet particularly if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or a child to make an  informed decision - we do not recommend the use of resin for people in  that stage if life. This class is a functional piece, which means you  will seal your art supplies with resin. Once this resin has been cured  for 30 days it is considered inert and therefore food safe under the FDA  regulations.

Traveling with your work

For your resin class, we highly recommend traveling via taxi, uber or  carpooling. You will absolutely need to travel home holding your work  with both hands to minimise movement of your design, for which there  will almost certainly be some. Traveling with it on the floor of your  car will see your design move significantly as the resin is the  consistency of honey

when you leave. Please opt for taxi, uber or  carpooling to avoid disappointment with your final piece.

Parking

There is plenty of parking available on-site at no cost to you.

What to wear to class?

Please wear old clothing, with long sleeves or BYO an apron, you are  attending an art class and should dress accordingly. Resin can not be  removed from your clothing if you get it on it once cured. There is no  way to remove resin from clothes in spite of common wives tales to the  contrary - this resin will wash out with water if you attend to it  before it cures however the colour pigments may leave a stain.

Can I pre-order a meal?

No. this must be done on the day but you can discuss dietary  requirements with the venue direct. They change their menu seasonally  and due to the risks associated with food-related intolerances and  allergies we prefer customer speak directly to them to ensure nothing is  missed in translation.

What happens if I can't make it?

You can find the terms and conditions here. For this class you will loose your deposit if you cancel within 7 days,  we make no exceptions due to the costs involved of which your class  supplies are a small part.

What size is this class

There could be up to 30 people in this class, there are up to 4  classes running on the evening in different parts of the venue with  different sizes.
